A busy weekend

We had a good trip to New York on Thursday. We stopped off at the Ohel on the way in. Chanie made us a delicious dinner for a big crowd. Heshel and Rivka provided the entertainment. Benyamin had a slide show of baby pictures that had us all smiling.
We took Chaya and her friend with us back to Springfield.
On Friday morning I received a few telephone calls from people who were very upset about the murders of the shluchim in India. I realized that we needed to take action and do something to help channel people's fear into something positive. We made an emergency meeting of the shluchim, preparted a press release which was immediately e-mail to all the media and then held a press conference at LYA at 2:00 p.m.
We decided to conduct a special memorial service scheduled for Sunday evening. B'H it was well attended and many people that never stepped foot into LYA came for the event. People were hurt and needed some chizuk. The television stations came and it was a very good event. We said some tehilim, heard from a few speakers showed footage of an interview on Cnn and everyone gave tzedaka. People gave very good feedback about the event.
On Friday night we had the Sokolsons and their relatives the Khomuts (who live in Rockland county). We also had Nechama Prus and Mussy Lerner. It was a full house and very lively that evening. Shabbos day was nice, a large crowd at shul and a nice farbrengen. We had melave Malka at Chaim's house.
Make sure you know which tehilim you are saying for Lavy Deitsch.
We should hear besuros tovos.
Love, TA
